Pomposa Abbey

Pomposa Abbey

A show for those who love ancient art

The Pomposa Abbey dates back to the 6th-7th century, but only after the year 1000 it became an important and fascinating monastic center, where the inhabitants dedicated their lives to prayer and work.

Inside you will find some precious frescoes and an incredible mosaic floor with inlays of precious marble.
The abbey is divided into 3 parts: the church, the monastery and the Palazzo della Ragione.

Next to it you will find the bell tower, built in 1063 by the "magister Deusdedit".

The Pomposa abbey is definitely worth a trip, ask us for more information!

If you're searching a place to eat some typical food, you'll be happy to find us in Pontemaodino!
